GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT

In accordance with Republic Act 7192 (Women in Development and Nation-Building Act) that promotes the integration of women as full and equal partners of men in development and nation building and in the Philippine Plan for Gender-Responsive Development (PPGD) 1995-2025, all departments including their attached agencies, offices, bureaus, agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations and other instrumentalities, shall formulate a Gender Awareness and Development (GAD) plan, designed to ensure that women benefit equally and participate directly in the development programs and projects to further empower women and address gender issues.

GAD and the PCSD

The PCSD ensures that GAD knowledge and awareness are implemented within the agency. This is done through various activities such as orientations for new employees which cover essential laws such as Republic Act 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act, instructional materials, and special activities. Most notably, Women’s Month 2024 featured many programs designed to inspire inclusivity and equality in the workplace. Indeed, as one of the implementers of GAD initiatives in various communities, the PCSD is a prime example of an environment where women are full and equal partners with men in all aspects.
